1. What makes Clothing Science so unique?

A. The science of developing a personal image

The clothing industry speaks of fashion. Designers talk about their latest creations. Tailors talk about their "house style."  We, at Clothing Science, talk about your personal image, which is the essence of what clothing is about. Clothing Science is recognized, nationally, for the science that we have developed to help you create your own, personal image, utilizing what is current in fashion and timeless in style.

B. Attempts at mass customization

Tailors boast about the skill they have developed in taking measurements; yet they still discuss how many fittings they will require, before delivering a suit to you. The industry has struggled for decades to hasten the arrival of mass customization, devising different mechanical methodologies to measure the body. They have made more than a few failed attempts over the years. These attempts have culminated in the very expensive, body-scanning technology which has had very limited success so far, because it has not been successful in helping to deliver a suit that fits.

C. Your Perfect Fit and Making mass customization work for you

At Clothing Science we deliver your perfect fit every single time by our ability to make mass customization work for you. The only requirement is a tape measure. No special expertise in taking measurements is required. No fittings and re-fittings are necessary, and final alterations are generally a thing of the past. The reasoning is that, contrary to the wide perception in the industry and among the public, perfect measurements of the body are a myth and are not captured directly from the physique. Furthermore, if we objectively analyze the true purpose of tailoring, we will discover that in reality the human body is never completely symmetrical and hence the ultimate function of tailoring, in addition to fitting the body, is to lend symmetry to the body where symmetry doesn't exist.

The secret therefore to achieving your perfect fit and enhancing the proportions of the physique is a matter of how to extrapolate the perfect measurements of the pattern from the imperfect measurements of the body and not necessarily how accurately the physical measurements are initially taken. This process of extrapolation consequently is the one that allows us to achieve your perfect fit every single time without having to take the "awkward inseam measurements" or the need for expertise in taking the physical measurements. Also no fitting and try-ons are required. At the same time, we are able to enhance the physique by altering it's non-symmetrical dimensions. This is our elegant solution and the truth and the genius behind our highly successful patented tailoring process, and your perfect fit.

This unique system, “The Slilaty System of Mass Customization,” and Your Perfect Fit was developed and patented by Master Tailor, Designer, Mathematician and Philosopher - HAL SLILATY.

2. How do I select a garment from a small piece of cloth?

Men, on an average, only end up liking 1 out of every 3 suits they buy off-the-rack. The reasons for this are the limitations of ready-to-wear—its lack of selection and of professional guidance in making the right choice. At Clothing Science, our trained image consultants assist you in choosing the right garment and developing your own personal style—making available to you an almost limitless selection of fabrics and styles. Our unique methodology of helping you select the right garment from a small piece of cloth is, in itself, worthy of a patent.

3. Who will take my measurements?

Our patented process in not based on the skill of the person taking the measurements and only requires that the measurements be taken in the prescribed manner. We make available to you easy to follow videos that show you step by step how to take the required measurements. Afterwards, our software will cross check those measurements for accuracy before applying them. We will not produce any garments for you unless we are confident in the measurements submitted.

6. What if I gain or lose weight?

If we can make it for you without having to take the awkward inseam measurements and have it fit you without the need for you to try it, we can certainly alter it for you too. If you gain or lose weight and the garments we made for you need adjustments, we'll be happy to alter them for you. This is our service to you after the sale and our way of helping you protect your investment by making sure the job is done correctly.

7. What is the expected delivery time?

Our delivery time is 4 weeks for shirts and 6 weeks for all other garments, which is comparable to the industry-wide standard. The only difference is that the suit that we make you will fit perfectly; be marveled at and complimented on, every time you wear it.

8. What about price?

Imagine having a whole wardrobe of favorite suits versus having only one favorite suit out of every 3 suits that you own which seems to be the average among men. If you purchase a dozen suits and you only enjoy wearing four of them, it is as though you paid three times as much per suit than you actually did, plus the loss you incur when you're not feeling so good about what you're wearing. If a suit doesn't make you feel taller and more confident when you put it on, you should not be wearing it. We are confident that every garment that we make for you at Clothing Science will achieve the intended purpose and make you feel good about the decision that you have made.
